FAQ

Quick answers to common questions. Tap any to expand.

02What are the four OSBA registration pathways?

OSBA offers four pathways: Small Ball, U10 Development, House League / Recreational, and Competitive.

05Who pays the Ontario Basketball Association fees?

All House League / Recreational and Competitive players pay the Ontario Basketball Association fees.

06Is House League the same as Recreational?

Yes. House League is OSBA's recreational pathway. There is no tryout, but players attend sort-outs to help create balanced teams.

07Are House League sort-outs tryouts?

No. Sort-outs are used for team balancing only. They are not used to decide whether a player makes a team.

09How does Competitive registration work?

Players first register for Competitive tryouts and pay the separate $35 tryout fee. If selected by a coach, the player then completes Competitive registration.

10What does Competitive registration include?

Competitive registration includes the OSBA base registration fee, the $130 Competitive top-up fee, and separate Ontario Basketball Association fees.

11What is the Competitive top-up fee?

The Competitive top-up fee applies to players selected for Competitive programming. The fee varies by age: U10: $170, U11–U12: $180, U13–U18/19: $130.

12What are the Pre-Season Tune-Up Sessions?

Pre-Season Tune-Up Sessions are an optional skills add-on for U11 through U19/U18 House League/Recreational and Competitive players. They help players prepare for sort-outs and the start of the season after summer play. The fee is $75.

13Are Pre-Season Tune-Up Sessions only for House League players?

No. Both House League/Recreational and Competitive players may register for Pre-Season Tune-Up Sessions.
